Smart National ID Cards for Iranians Residing Abroad

Issuance of smart national ID cards for Iranians residing abroad and online application for national ID cards began in early spring 2021 at the consulates in Kuala Lumpur, Frankfurt, Vienna, Oslo, Washington, and Stockholm, and Bangkok. Currently, the number of consulates issuing smart national ID cards has increased to 19.

In order to maintain the connection of Iranians abroad with the homeland and in coordination with the Registration Organization of the country, the necessary infrastructure has been provided and the issuance and delivery of smart national ID cards for Iranians abroad has become possible.

Currently, consulates in Istanbul, Stockholm, Oslo, Baku, Bangkok, Brussels, Paris, Dubai, Rome, Frankfurt, Kuala Lumpur, Madrid, Moscow, Mumbai, Hamburg, Washington, Vienna, Copenhagen, and Tbilisi provide services related to the issuance of smart national ID cards for Iranians residing abroad.
