Travel procedures with special exit permits

The Iranian Armed Forces General Staff has announced a new regulation that simplifies the entry and exit procedures for Iranian conscripts residing abroad.

Under the new rules, Iranian conscripts who have resided outside the country for at least three years can now travel to Iran twice a year for a total stay of 90 days. This is a significant relaxation of previous regulations.

The head of the Human Resources Department of the Armed Forces General Staff highlighted the key difference between the new and old regulations: Previously, an Iranian conscript residing abroad had to be absent from the country for three years before being allowed to enter. However, the new regulation has removed the requirement for a specific duration of absence. Any conscript who has resided abroad for three years, regardless of the length of their absence, can now benefit from this facility.

The special exit stamp for Iranian conscripts residing abroad is currently valid until the end of 2025. Holders of this stamp can travel to Iran twice a year and stay for a total of 90 days. It’s important to note that these individuals must apply for a special exit stamp at Iranian representative offices in their country of residence while renewing their passports and updating their residential information.
