1.Who are considered "approved students"?
Students considered “approved” are those who:
- Departed Iran before completing their undergraduate degree.
- Completed their bachelor’s studies in Iran and are pursuing higher education.
To qualify, they must:
- Have a file with the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology or Ministry of Health and Medical Education.
- Have posted a security deposit with the conscription organization.
2.What is the validity period of a student exit permit?
The student exit permit has a validity period of one year. Eligible students can utilize this permit for travel between the first day of Mehr (September) and the last day of Shahrivar (August) of the academic year.
3.What is the process of obtaining a student exit permit within the country?
Except for students residing in Canada, all other students must obtain a stamp from the Iranian representative office in their country of study before entering Iran. This stamp will not be issued within Iran.
4.What are the steps involved in applying for a student exit permit through the embassy?

If an individual fails to report for military service within one year after obtaining their degree or the termination of their initial student deferment granted by the conscription office, it is considered as part of military absence.
8.Do Iranian students studying overseas qualify for extensions to their military service deferments if their current exemptions are set to expire?
Yes, both international and domestic students can benefit from a grace period of up to two semesters to finalize their academic requirements and obtain their degrees.
9.What are the requirements for evaluating academic credentials earned from foreign universities and for validating completed courses from overseas institutions?
